Hi there, I’m Lauren!
I am currently a senior at the University of Oregon, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a minor in business administration. I am set to graduate in June 2016, where I look forward to working in experiential and social media marketing in the entertainment industry. I am a concert enthusiast, movie quoting whiz and travel connoisseur, who does not forget her country roots.
As an intern at Melrose PR in Santa Monica, Calif., a boutique public relations firm, specializing in consumer products and lifestyle brands, I helped to produce the Annual Summer Soiree. This annual event allowed key media including the Huffington Post, FabFitFun and Viva Glam Magazine to engage with clients through product samples and an interactive storybooth by FoxTales.
Using a custom hashtag, I promoted the event on social media, which led to an increase in positive sentiment and over 80 impressions by guests. For the event, I created media lists, composed electronic press kits and pitched to online and print publications. I also developed effective social media strategies to increase followers by scheduling posts and creating a detailed social media calendar for clients.
I am currently an account executive for Allen Hall Public Relations, a student-run PR firm at the University of Oregon. My client, the Portland Metro Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, a professional development organization, aims to increase awareness. I compose a 14-month strategic plan to stimulate membership for the client’s targeted audiences. I also create content for Twitter, Facebook and its monthly newsletter to promote engagement through industry dialogue.
